Centerless Wheels utilize centerless grinding machines. Grinding machines can be configured for through feed grinding and for infeed grinding. Centerless Grinding involves two wheels to complete the process, a regulation wheel and a grinding wheel. The regulation wheel is rotating the workpiece, while the grinding is doing the removal of stock. Many years of manufacturing these wheels has given us the knowledge to provide the perfect wheel to utilize in centerless grinding machines. Custom wheels can be shipped in as little as seven days out of our Hickory, North Carolina location.
3 Types of Centerless Grinding Wheels
Through Feed, End Feed and In Feed. During through feed, the piece enters one side and exits the other side. During End Feed, the piece is fed through one side and stops where the grinding will take place and then be fed through the opposite end of the machine to exit. In feed, is used when machinist need to grind pieces that have complex shapes. The piece is placed in the machine manually and does not enter/ exit as it does in through feed and end feed.
